August 2020 Newsletter

RE ENROLMENTS FOR 2020

Re-enrolment notes will be emailed to you via HUBWORKS message centre by the end of August.
All existing enrolments need to complete this form to let us know your requirements for 2020.

Poohs Corner enrolments cease at the end of the calendar year eg: last day at Hunny Pots 22nd December.

If you do require care for January 2021 please send an email with your requirements. We will confirm if we can do this in November.

COVID 19 INFORMATION

We continue to thank you all for your assistance in keeping Hunny Pots ELC and our community a COVID19 safe place.

Please continue to use the hand sanitisers upon arrival of the centre, keeping 1.5m apart where possible and keeping your drop off/pick up prompt.

We are continuing with our one visitor at a time policy to keep external visitors to a minimum.

We thank you for keeping unwell children at home. Our educators have been doing the same. We understand how difficult this can be, but we truly hope that through out this crazy time we can work in partnership and keep Hunny Pots ELC a safe place.

PHOTOS

Photos days are Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th (please note reduced days – due to COVID19) in the morning session.

Please return the photo envelope if you wish to order. All enquires etc can be emailed to the photo company (details on the envelope)

If your child doesn’t attend on a Tuesday or Thursday and you wish to have a photo taken, please advise on your order form what day you will come in.

Our photographer will arrive approximately 8.30am. Time to be confirmed.

Unfortunately, no group/class photo this year due to COVID19. The class photo will be individual photos of the children. Therefore, each child will have their photo taken.

All children will be in the group photos each day.

Miss Monique will be observing and assisting the sessions to run smoothly.

Some children can be serious in photos; the photographer tries very hard to get the best possible shot. We have been told it is generally a 4-6 week turnaround of photos returning.

Extra information regarding photos and COVID19 regulations will be sent to you via email/HUBWORKS.

We look forward to seeing these photos!

ILLNESS

We sincerely thank you all for keeping your children at home when they are unwell.

Please continue to keep your children home if they are unwell – please remember not to send them with paracetamol /ibuprofen or over the counter cough mixtures in their system (as this will only mask the symptoms)

Please refer to NSW Health COVID19 information regarding illnesses. No runny nose, sore throat, fatigue, cough etc to attend the centre. Please have a COVID19 test and return when there are no symptoms – please bring in your COVID19 results.

This is very important throughout this time – your support, understanding and cooperation is greatly appreciated. It is a true testament of the wonderful families we have here at Hunny Pots. We are all working together to get through this crisis.

BIRTH CERTIFICATES AND CURRENT IMMUNISATION STATEMENTS.

If you have immunised your child recently e.g.: 1yr immunisation, 18mth chicken pox immunisation, 4yr old immunisation, please provide us with the updated record of this immunisation.

We must have a copy of your child’s up to date immunisation status on the premises.

No immunisation = no enrolment. This is a government regulation.

Also, please provide us with a copy of your child’s birth certificate.

Please check with the office if you are unsure if we have these documents.

WITHDRAWAL OF YOUR CHILD/REDUCING DAYS

Parents must give at least three weeks written notice to the Director before withdrawing their child from Hunny Pots.  If the child does not attend the centre during this period, fees are still payable (please see the below section: A child who has not yet received care or who has ceased receiving care) If the child is withdrawn without notice, three weeks full fees must be paid regardless.

Parents may reduce their child’s days of attendance by giving three weeks’ notice to the Director.

No notice period accepted in December and January for withdrawing or reducing days.

A child who has not yet received care or who has ceased receiving care

Below is from the Child Care Handbook Australian Government Department of Education and Training:

Child Care Subsidy will not be paid for absences where a provider charges a family to reserve a place for a child who has not yet physically started care.

If a child is booked in to start at a service on a particular date, and does not start on that day, no Child Care Subsidy will be paid until the child physically attends a session of care.

Similarly, a child care service is taken to have permanently ceased providing care for a child on the day the child last physically attends a session of care. This means that Child Care Subsidy will not be paid for absences submitted after a child last physically attends a session of care.

If a family has confirmed their child’s last day at a service, but that child does not attend their last booked sessions of care, no Child Care Subsidy will be paid for any days after the child’s last physical attendance at the service.

If a provider continues to charge fees for sessions on days after a child has left the service because the family did not give the agreed period of notice, Child Care Subsidy will not be payable for these sessions of care. If absences are reported in the above circumstances and Child Care Subsidy is incorrectly paid, these amounts will be recovered from the service.

You must attend the last day of care to receive child care subsidy on your last day.

LABELLING YOUR CHILD’S BELONGINGS

Please ensure all items are labeled e.g.: drink bottles, clothing, hats etc. It is very difficult to rely on staff to know who belongs to what each day (we have 115 children each week!)

This is also a great task for Pooh’s Corner to achieve – looking after their belongings for school readiness.
