END OF YEAR…..
It’s already November and we are on the crazy slide to Christmas!
All of our end of year events are coming up quickly, end of reports are being printed, portfolios finalised and some planning for next year is underway!
REVIEWING OUR PROGRAM
In October, all staff had training to refine our daily program. It was a fantastic training and coaching session that allowed us to ensure our practices are embedded into our program.
We have introduced a ‘Weekend Book’ for each room – this really enhances our partnership with families and allows us to plan activities based on children’s interest.
Please write in the weekend book – it’s not just for the weekend activities. Let us know what you have been up to! From this information, we have a discussion with your child and plan activities based on this interest. You will see our Curriculum planner (old day book) in the foyer showing the link from your comments to the daily events.
Our curriculum planner is giving you more detail on activities – each room has many activities offered for the children to participate in. There is more to our day than the written daily events. Look at the TV for the daily photos; look at your child’s portfolio to see the documented evidence of learning, look at displays on learning areas on the walls in each room. It really is an exciting time in your child’s learning – we look forward to the journey and are honoured to be a part of your child’s early learning years.
ORIENTATION
Children from Eeyores and Tiggers Place will be participating in orientation if they are moving up a room for 2016. We will do this in small groups to ensure ratios are being met. If your child has participated in orientation, we will let you know.
Children participating in orientation for BIG school are to be taken by their parents/family and returned to Hunny Pots by their family. Due to regulations, we cannot take or pick up the children from school orientation.
POOH’S CORNER CHILDREN
All Pooh’s Corner enrolments finish on Tuesday 22nd December 2015. We can apply your bond back to your account if the balance owing is less than the bond being held. Any credit, after the last CCB/CCR payments have cleared, will be refunded to you early/mid January 2016. Please provide your bank details to ensure this smooth process.
We will be putting a list of the names of Pooh’s Corner children on the laundry door – please write in the name of the school your child is attending for 2016. For those children returning to Hunny Pots in 2016, please proudly write HUNNY POTS!
FEES FOR 2016
Eeyore’s Spot (0-3yrs) – $96 per day.
Tigger’s Place (3-4 yrs) – $82 per day.
Pooh’s Corner (4-5yrs) – $78 per day.
STAFF NEWS
Miss Jo is currently on Long service leave to the beginning of December (returning Monday 7th December) – she is in New Zealand with her family.
We are delighted to announce Miss Malena will be staying on with us after she completes her traineeship in January 2016. Miss Malena has completed her Certificate Three in Children’s Services and is also looking into further studies!
All staff will be notified of their rooms for 2016 within this month. We will let families know late November.
SUN PROTECTION/CLOTHING
As the weather starts to warm up, we would like families to know that we do go outside in the warmer weather. We have plenty of water breaks and play in the shade. If we find the weather too hot, we will come inside to the air conditioning. Please trust that these decisions will be made in the best interest of each child.
Please remember, our Sun Protection Policy states for all children to wear a broad brimmed, legionnaire’s style hat, or bucket style hat – NO BASEBALL HATS ALOWED.
Also, children must wear clothing that covers their shoulders – NO SINGLETS, STRAP DRESSES, MUSCLE TOPS OR THONGS ALLOWED.
This is to encourage lifelong sun protection skills for your child.

Centre Closure over the Christmas break – We will be operating up to and including Tuesday 22nd December 2015 and reopening on Wednesday 6th January 2016.
All existing enrolments commence from the 6th January 2016.
