June 2015 Newsletter

Our dedicated teachers are working on your child’s developmental summary for their Half Yearly Report – this is a great way to demonstrate what your child has been doing, achieving and goals we are setting for the remainder of the year. We aim to have the reports sent this month (a copy will also go in your child’s portfolio that you receive at the end of the year). We would love for you to provide feedback on your child’s progress, letting us know any interests we could follow and any goals you may have.

To assist with your Child Care Benefit and/or Child Care Rebate payments, please ensure your account is finalised by the 30/6/15. Thank you.

BOND UPDATES/FEE INCREASE

Thank you to the many families who have paid their bond increase to reflect the fee increase occurring in July.

If you haven’t paid your updated bond, please arrange to do so before 12/6/15. Thank you.

TRANSITIONING FROM ONE ROOM TO THE NEXT

If your child turns 3 years old throughout the year, we will endeavor to move them from Eeyore’s room to Tigger’s room. This is based on there being a position available – they are our first priority when positions do become available.

When children move from Eeyores to Tiggers, they participate in orientation; this is to assist with a smooth transition to their new room. They have the opportunity to become familiar with their new teachers and children in the room. The previous teacher will pass on information and observation records of the child to the next teacher to ensure consistency and continuity. Children are encouraged to be toilet trained before they go into Tigger’s Place, as there are no nappy changing facilities in this room.

Eeyore’s is the only room we transition mid year.

Tigger’s enrolments are for the year.

SEEKING PROFESSIONAL SPECIALIST ADVICE

If you are referred to a specialist e.g.: speech, occupational therapy etc please send us an email with your permission to discuss your child’s development with the specialist.

This helps us to work in partnership together whilst respecting confidentiality.

DIETARY GUIDELINES CHANGE

Dietary guidelines have changed.

We will be implementing our new menu from July 2015. You will still see our favourite meals; we have just implemented some small changes.

Red meat servings per week have increased and dairy has decreased – just a few of the changes.

Sandwiches will be taken off the menu and will reappear in Term 4, once a fortnight (to assist with school readiness).

Our nutrition checklist for menu planning and the dietary food pyramid will be displayed near the kitchen to demonstrate any changes.

SCHOOL READINESS FOR FAMILIESMONDAY 27th JULY 7pm @ Hunny Pots ELC.

This year we will be providing a School Readiness Seminar with a guest speaker Danielle Mantakoul from EC professionals.

Danielle has come to our centre in previous years to discuss behaviour management strategies and school readiness.

Her seminars have always been very informative and very entertaining!

Hunny Pots will be funding the cost of Danielle’s visit.

We invite all Tiggers and Pooh’s Corner families to come along.

Save the date! Please – No children to be present.
